Family fun

What a great spring it has been! Can't believe how fast time flies. We spent a Saturday morning recently at the local farmer's market. But we first stopped by Chick-fil-a for a healthy breakfast before browsing the organic fruits and veggies :)
There was an adorable daddy/daughter team selling their homemade cheese so we bought some delicious cheese curds!

There have been some crazy tornadoes lately. Fortunately we haven't had any damage here. The latest scare was on a Tuesday night. The news was saying it could be as bad as the one that hit Joplin. So Matt and I packed up and headed to the safest building at the Walmart home office and watched the weather channel in a safe spot. We got home around midnight. Lil was pretty confused.

My cousin, Matt, got married in Little Rock this past weekend. It was a fun trip and the wedding was beautiful! Lilly did well. Here she is in her usual wedding spot - in daddy's lap with a sippy!
We made our first trip to Whole Foods!! After much hype from our friends we thought we should check it out. It was super neat. Tons of great food and neat drinks. We got some bottled green teas, blue corn tortilla chips, honey roasted peanuts, dried figs, and blueberry wine!

Still enjoying our weekend dates. We haven't actually had the chance to go on a date without Lilly, but hopefully we can do that soon. It was a good change this weekend to go to Bella Vista for some Dairy Queen. They make an awesome German chocolate brownie blizzard! Then we walked on one of the trails. Lilly was smiling and squealing the whole time. It was super cute.

Memorial day was spent with our friends and their kiddos in their back yard. It's so fun to watch them play and enjoy the sunshine. We all went down to the neighborhood pool, too. It's supposed to be heated but it wasn't! The water was ice cold! We had Lil all decked out in swimsuit, swim diaper, hat, and sunscreen for about 10 minutes of pool time. Matt lowered her legs in and at first she didn't know what to think. Then she realized how cold it was and cried and pulled up her legs. Not a pleasant first pool experience! I bet she'll do better at the beach this summer!
She's trying decide what to think about grass...

Stopping by to see Uncle Will at work
Her new pirate face

First trip to Hobby Lobby
Story time
First experience petting a dog. This face pretty much sums up the experience:
We are still loving reading Crazy Love for lifegroup. I am also doing my first Beth Moore bible study and it's awesome!
Matt celebrated his 3 year Walmart anniversary last week. I am so thankful for his job and very thankful that he works so hard for us. He is appreciated at work as well; he was recently promoted! Woo hoo!

Big City

10 things I love about this girl:

10) She laughs at our tiki torches on the back porch
9) She acts shy when Daddy kisses her cheeks
8) Watching her roll over
7) The way she gets super excited when she sees a sippy cup
6) Her hugs
5) Her plumpy cheeks and thighs
4) She straightens her arm and shakes each toy up and down to see if it will rattle
3) She looks for her Daddy when he's not here
2) Her laugh when we sing and dance
1) Her sweet smile and expression when we lay down and read a goodnight book

What a blessing she is. She is a rolling queen now. The other day I was sitting on the floor eating lunch and she just kept rolling over and almost rolled onto my plate! I looked around and realized I need to start childproofing since there were a pair of scissors and my vitamins lying on the floor next to me. Yikes!

Story time with uncle Will and aunt Lisa!

Don't worry, she buckled up when we backed out of the garage ;)

Lately we have enjoyed going out in the morning to water the garden. I strap Lilly to me with our baby harness and we soak all the plants and talk about their progress. She seems very interested in it all and doesn't mind that I make her wear a goofy hat.

Matt had a business trip to NYC this week. What a cool opportunity. He stayed in Manhattan, right across from the Empire State Building and Macy's. They upgraded his hotel room to a fancy suite when he got there. Even though it was misty and rainy the whole time he still had a blast walking around the city. He saw Central Park, Trump Tower, Rockefeller Center, and FAO Schwarz! And he brought back the best souvenirs ever...toiletries from the hotel!
Just kidding, although I love it when he brings me those ;)
I heart NYC stuff! Sweet! I love my new mug and tee shirt!

He's all packed and ready to go!
Rockefeller Center
View from the hotel room

Central Park was definitely the highlight of the trip.

Empire State Building
Lilly sleeps better when Daddy is home so it's good to have him back. We're totally going with him next time!!

May

What an eventful week! I cannot believe that it is already May. Sweet Lillian is growing up so fast. She just started rolling over! Here she is very proud of herself after she rolled over the first time. Matt and I were in the kitchen and we missed it! We heard her grumbling in the living room and she wasn't too happy about being on her belly.

I am enjoying watching her play lately. She loves to shake her rattle and explore stuffed animals, bringing each paw to her mouth one at a time. She is very sweet with her Daddy.

Sippin' on a walk. It's been so hot lately!
Trip to Crystal Bridges with Grandpa.

My brother got married this weekend! He and his beautiful bride, Lisa, had a gorgeous wedding at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. We drove over for the day after having a fun night with Matt's dad and step mom here at the house. Of course there was a strange parade blocking every steep, hair pin curvy road we tried to go down. We were pretty nauseous when we finally got there!
The wedding was outside on the most lush green grass. Everything was beautiful and perfect, like it should be. They had a vintage nautical theme with sailboats, sand, and blue flowers. Lilly napped through the ceremony but woke up in time for the reception.

Daddy-nap before the wedding.
Didn't know what a fascinator was until recently...I like them!

And they shall live happily ever after...
Congrats, Will and Lisa! We love you!
